Winner of the Delalande-Guérineau Prize of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres in Paris for the book Le Royaume biblique oublié (Paris 2013). The prize is awarded to the person «qui aura composé le meilleur ouvrage jugé par l’Académie». It has been given every second year since the late 19th century. As of the early 1960s it is awarded to the most important publication in “orientalism”.
Elected as correspondant étranger of the French Académie des Inscriptions et Belles Lettres.
